Public hearings set across state on code of ethics for educators
Posted on Friday, March 28, 2008
Seven public hearings on proposed state rules establishing a code of ethics for educators are scheduled for locations across the state over the next two weeks.
The Arkansas Board of Education earlier this month approved the draft rules for the purpose of receiving public comment. Comments made at the hearings could result in revisions, and the board will consider final approval of the rules afterward.
Each of the public forums will be from 5-7 p.m. The dates and places for the forums are March 31, Pinkston Middle School cafeteria, 1301 S. College, Mountain Home. April 1, Jonesboro High School auditorium, 301 Hurricane Drive, Jonesboro. April 2, Arkansas Department of Education auditorium, 4 Capitol Mall, Little Rock. April 7, Mackey Center in the Bates Annex, 601 Buchanan St., Fayetteville.
April 8, Hope High School auditorium, 1700 S. Main St., Hope.
April 9, Warren School District Administration Building, 408 Cherry St., Warren. April 10, Arkansas Tech University Pendergraft Library, 300 South St., Russellville.
