The Wal-Mart Foundation has announced a $ 500, 000 grant to the Clinton Global Initiative University, which held its inaugural meeting over the weekend at Tulane University in New Orleans.
The Wal-Mart Foundation grant will fund college students’ and universities’ projects within the Clinton Global Initiative University’s four main focus areas: energy and climate change, global health, human rights and peace, and poverty alleviation.
A total of $ 350, 000 will go to two universities. The remaining $ 150, 000 will be granted to 35 students and student groups. The awards will be made in August to students and universities who can demonstrate progress on their commitments.
