Children’s Hospital renames new clinic

Arkansas Children’s Hospital announced Friday a $ 1. 8 million gift from the statewide auxiliary group Circle of Friends.

The Little Rock-based hospital is renaming its new clinic at 13 th and Marshall streets the Circle of Friends Clinic in honor of the gift.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital South Clinic opened in October with 38 exam rooms and a radiology suite.

It is home to the Primary Care Continuity Clinic, the Endocrine and Diabetes clinics, and rotating specialty clinics for treatment of skin conditions, growth and development issues, hemophilia, sickle cell anemia and tuberculosis.

The staff includes 15 nurses, physicians, residents, occupational therapists, social workers and a nutritionist.

Hospital officials anticipate the clinic will see 22, 000 patients visits its first year.

Kim Williams, president of the Circle of Friends state board and a member of the Faulkner County chapter, said the group is dedicated to improving health care for children.

Circle of Friends volunteers coordinate fundraising and outreach activities for the state’s only children’s hospital.
