SUPERMARKET SLEUTH : A basket of new snack items, and drinks to wash them down

Pepperidge Farm recently debuted a snack line called Baked Naturals which consists of Wheat Crisps in Toasted Wheat and Zesty Tomato Herb flavors. The toasted wheat is made with whole grains; Zesty Tomato Herb is made with a blend of tomatoes, cilantro, jalapenos and a hint of lime.
Pretzel Thins in Simply Pretzel and Savory Cheddar. They’re flat pretzel-shape crackers, and the cheddar version is seasoned with natural white cheddar cheese.
Snack Sticks in Artisan Cheese and Toasted Sesame. The Artisan Cheese flavor is seasoned with a blend of Asiago, bleu, sharp cheddar and Romano cheeses. The Toasted Sesame Snack Sticks are flavored with toasted sesame seeds and a dash of garlic.
The snacks should be sold at most major supermarkets and mass merchandise stores, retailing for about $ 3. 50 per box.
The company also added a flavor to its popular cookie line. The White & Milk Chocolate Cookies are chocolate with chunks of milk and white chocolate mixed in, and they’re available in Soft Baked and Crispy versions. They should retail for $ 3. 20 per bag.
PEACHY COOL Tropicana recently debuted Coastal Groves Lemonades in Original Lemonade, Raspberry Peach and Peach Lemonade flavors, which are sold in 64-ounce cartons ($ 3 ) and 12-ounce singleserve containers ($ 1. 80 ). Look for them in your grocer’s refrigerated juice case. CRANBERRY BLEND Ocean Spray has a new line called Cranergy Energy Juice Drink, a cranberry juice blend with green tea extract, vitamins C, B 2, B 3, B 6 and B 12. It contains 35 calories per 8-ounce serving, and is available in Cranberry Lift and Raspberry Cranberry Lift. It retails for about $ 4 for a 46-ounce bottle or a 12-ounce four-pack.
